Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet convened at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the plight of PT Sritex employees who had been laid off. The meeting, chaired by Prabowo, aimed to find solutions for the affected workers. Attendees included Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and PT Sritex Curator Nurma Sadikin.

Prasetyo emphasized the president’s concern for the workers and stressed the need to address the issues faced by PT Sritex following its bankruptcy declaration in October 2024. The objective is to rehire approximately 8,000 employees with a new working arrangement in the textile sector. Minister Yassierli praised the curator’s efforts to potentially re-employ former Sritex employees within the next two weeks.

Prabowo’s dedication to providing support and guidance is expected to bring relief to PT Sritex employees affected by the job cuts. The Ministry of Manpower is actively protecting the rights of PT Sritex Group workers by ensuring they receive appropriate compensation and other entitlements. The PT Sritex Curator Team is in the process of identifying investors to manage Sritex’s assets under a new scheme, which will lead to the rehiring of the laid-off workers. This initiative aims to stabilize the impacted employees and offer a resolution to their current predicament.
